Hey there, I’m Anya
Have you ever wondered how a photographer chooses their photographer? Here’s my secret:
I look purely at their images.
The pictures should speak to you, pull at you, and evoke connection and emotion within you.
As a former midwife and lover of all things baby, I have been a professional photographer for 10 years, capturing the tender beauty of births, newborns, children, life and love.
Why do I do this?
Besides loving babies so much, I have a strong passion for documenting real and raw moments in people’s lives. Moments we can’t get back. As a widow, I know first hand that besides our memories, images are sometimes all we have left. I want my clients to look back their photos and see all the love, forgetting the day-to-day, and remember what’s most important – love and family.
Images that capture the true beauty of our memories are what I love the most.
I am honored to serve the world and our community by volunteering as a bereavement and end of life photographer for the newly born and very young babies and children through an amazing organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. Giving back to families is the heart and soul of who I am as a person.
Real. Raw. Intimate. Timeless.
Are just a few words my closest clients have used to describe me and my work. I love capturing only the most beautifully authentic moments. No posing intended. I know the best and most powerful images come when you are natural, free and living in the moment. This is why I love photographing babies so much.
Fun things about me? I am mostly known for my short stature, my ability to make almost any situation sound inappropriate, and my large collection of pajama outfits (I really should consider buying stock in Anthropologie).
Most days you can find me running frantically around the house trying to catch one of my 5 children, or our cornucopia of pets…including a bunny named Phoebe, and Stella, the
naughty mischievous Goldendoodle.
People often tell me I am one of the most authentic women they have ever met, and that I wear my heart on my sleeve and open it to anyone and everyone.
My passions in life are adventures across the globe with my children, telling my story as a widow so
others don’t feel so alone, raising my children to be amazing global citizens, and eating chips in bed
while binge watching shows on Hulu.
