peace, much love, and baby smiles ♥ anya

this cute little bub gave me a great big hug the minute I walked in the door! I think he knew we were going to eat cake and splash in the bathtub… because THAT is the kind of fun Anya likes to have at one year old baby sessions. ;)

Needless to say it is a very long, drawn out, probably exceedingly boring story about the journey life takes us when we least expect it. However, the million dollar question seems to be…… “Are you still taking clients”? And the answer is YES! I am still taking clients. And I am going to show off some of the gorgeous clients I have taken on…. starting with one of my fave little men, Nadav. I had the pleasure of photographing him at 6 months of age and was blessed once again when he turned one…..

and he is so expressive I could just eat him up with marmalade and toast!!! (well and maybe a little peanut butter)… ;)

A few more of baby ella and her awesome family. I have been dying to do an image of a daddy with a tattoo and his baby. This daddy has a rockin’ tattoo and loves his little baby girl to pieces :) I have to give a HUGE shout out to my AWESOME dad’s who have bravely bared their chests for me to photograph them with their wee loves. There is honestly nothing that melts any mama’s heart more than seeing her man loving their baby. :)

And just for fun, I will let everyone in on my super top secret photo editing music collection…..

Today’s (LOUD) selections were:

Girlfriend in a Coma — Smiths
Shoplifters of the World — Smiths (I know, both these songs are kinda weird to edit baby images to, eh? LOL!)
Tupelo Honey — Van Morrison
Talkin’ about a Revolution — Tracy Chapman
Shimmer — Fuel
Strangelove — Depeche Mode
Shake the Disease — Depeche Mode (saw them live at the Forum in LA circa 1985 or ‘86, I can’t remember!)
Where the Streets Have no Name — U2
Bad — U2 (Saw live in 1988….my bff Heather and I got Bono butt view….don’t know why they played in the round)
Gin and Juice — Snoop Dog (shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Don’t tell anyone…..it’s a mood piece……lol!)
Love My Way — Psychadelic Furs
Solsbury Hill — Peter Gabriel
You Should be Dancing — Bee Gee’s
Falls on Me — Fuel
Glycerine — Bush (Who I actually got to see live at Woodstock ‘99)
Superman — REM
Living for the City — Stevie Wonder
Mountains O’ Things — Tracy Chapman
Superstition — Stevie Wonder

…and it’s official….my kids think I am either totally nuts or high…..

He is such a chub a bub that he even has his own nose brow!!!! Yum-o! My second 9 lb’er this week :)

The funny thing was that he was IN LOVE with this position. He was awake until I put him like this…..then he rapidly drifted off to sleep!

Another beautiful baby girl! Ella is having a mini-sneak peek because she will have more images added to my blog later on this week when we add some daddy and mommy shots to the mix. The weather had been NUTS this last week, hasn’t it? It is supposed to be spring. Just say yes to babies and NO to snow!!!!!

It is going to be one crazy newborn fiesta this week as I have 3 (yes, 3!) more newbies to photograph this week and one that I think is still in mama’s belly waiting to arrive ;)

This big sister could not WAIT to be photographed with her little baby sister. To top it off, she showed me some acrobatics on my beanbag that I am hoping (cross my fingers) my Annika and Rowan never figure out. Otherwise we will probably spend a lot more time than we already do at the “Doctor Store”….as Annika refers to the Emergency Room. LOL!

And I had to post this one. There is nothing like a good cute doggie image to make me smile. :)

*whew*…it has been a complete whirlwind of a last few months with lots of newborns and LOTS of changes in store. I will update more on that a bit later :)

I was lucky enough to spend my Saturday with this little cutie who came all the way from Minnesota to visit her cousin Jaxon and have her one year old photos taken by me! What a complete honor ;) Maddi definitely put me to work, and I believe that I actually did leave with some red ladybug frosting on my rear. I will secretly admit that it smells WAY better than baby poo….which is what I typically have on my pants when I come home.

And a side note on a parenting experience I had this morning. I remember a time in my children’s lives when passing a McDonalds made me cringe because my wee ones, before they were even speaking, could recognize the brilliant branding of those golden arches. Well fear no longer. Now it is Starbucks that my little Rowan recognizes. Yes, Starbucks. Not only does he recognize it, he knows its exact location. And can point the way. As he did this morning when I was apparently not turning in the right direction. And he pointed the other way (towards the Starbucks drive through) yelling “Bucks, Bucks, Bucks, mommy”.
