Photographing newborns is my specialty. From their tiny little button noses to their soft downy baby fuzz, teeny-tiny fingers and toes and creamy soft skin, each and every new baby is beautiful. The newborn time is so incredibly beautiful and yet so fleeting. My desire is to capture those moments so your memories can be cherished and savored.
When to schedule your session
I tend to book out at least 4 – 6 weeks in advance, however if you have already had your baby please do not hesitate to contact me. I will do my best to fit you in. I schedule newborn sessions based on mom’s due date, the actual date to be decided once baby has arrived. The “hands down” best day to photograph a newborn is typically day 5 to 7 post birth. By the time baby has reached approximately 2 weeks and older, newborn acne and colic can begin to set in which makes achieving relaxed, peaceful portraits difficult. I have, however, photographed some babies up to 4 weeks in age as “newborn portraits” successfully.
Where does the session take place?
Sessions typically take place in your home. I have vast experience at finding beautiful light in almost any space. We will discuss the availability of natural light in your home prior to your session taking place. Almost every single image you see on my website takes place in a clients home. The actual size of your home does not matter. I have photographed newborns in spaces from small city apartments to 5,000 square foot homes with the same results.
How long does a typical session last?
I am a firm believer in following the baby’s lead. Every baby is unique in their own beautiful way. I will never “force” a baby into a pose. Expect a newborn session to last between 3-4 hours allowing plenty of time for feedings and cuddling.
I see a variety of blankets, knits, baskets, etc… in your images. Do I need to provide these or do you bring them with you?
No worries! I bring everything with me. Sometimes I will find a beautiful basket or bowl in your home and ask to use that, however the props and knits you see on my website currently are items I bring along.
What is your newborn session fee?
Newborn session fees begin at $150 for a weekday session.
Do you charge an additional session fee for multiples (twins/triplets, etc…)?
No. I celebrate the opportunity to photograph multiples! 
What it the typical turn around time for photos after the session?
Each image in your gallery is hand crafted by me. I do not run your images through a batch editing program where every image receives the same treatment. Therefore, please allow 2-3 weeks for your image gallery to become available.
